Addressing the Abolition of Promissory Notes: Digital Garage Partners with Works Applications to Embed B2B Card Payments in an ERP Package

Deployable Without ERP Modifications, with Payment Terms Extendable by up to 60 Days

2026.06.19

  • Digital Garage, Inc. (TSE Prime section: 4819; HQ: Tokyo; Representative Director, President Executive Officer and Group CEO: Kaoru Hayashi; “Digital Garage”) has begun jointly rolling out DGFT Invoice Card Payment with Works Applications Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Osamu Hata; hereinafter “WAP”).
  • Through this collaboration, the two companies will jointly propose Digital Garage’s invoice card payment service as a cash flow improvement measure to companies that use HUE, the cloud ERP provided by WAP.

■ Background and Objectives of the Collaboration
Under the Act on Proper Transactions with Small and Medium-Sized Entrusted Business Operators, which took effect in January 2026, payment by promissory note is, in principle, prohibited, with the de facto abolition of promissory notes scheduled by the end of March 2027. As companies work to comply with the Act, there are concerns about the impact on paying companies in areas such as cash flow and securing cash on hand.

WAP provides the cloud-based ERP system “HUE” primarily to major corporations. As customer demand for improved cash flow management grew, the development costs and man-hours required to add new features to “HUE” became a challenge.

To address these challenges, Digital Garage and WAP have begun a collaboration aimed at achieving seamless integration between B2B payment solutions and ERP packages.

Through this collaboration, WAP can link payment functionality to its own services quickly and without incurring additional development costs, while leveraging its existing system infrastructure. In addition, by using this service, WAP’s client companies can switch invoices designated for bank transfer to credit card payment. Because this effectively extends their own payment terms, it leads to more stable cash flow.

At Digital Garage, we aim to expand our reach to WAP’s customer base of approximately 2,400 companies and the network of tens of thousands of business partners connected to them, with the goal of not only improving our customers’ cash flow but also contributing to a more in-depth digital transformation of accounting operations. Furthermore, against the backdrop of growing business needs resulting from recent legislative changes, we believe this will enable us to make proposals to a broader range of customers.

■ About “DGFT Invoice Card Payment”
This service enables users to pay invoices with their credit card even when the payee does not accept card payments. Digital Garage pays the invoice on behalf of the user in the user’s name. Supported cards include JCB, Visa, Mastercard®, and Diners Club.

By switching payments from bank transfer to credit card, users can effectively extend their payment deadline by up to about 60 days. This helps SMEs address temporary cash shortages and cover seasonal procurement costs. Since its launch in October 2022, Digital Garage has continued to improve user convenience by adding functions such as AI-OCR invoice auto-import, invoice management functions compliant with the Electronic Book Storage Act, and API integration for seamless invoice linkage with external systems.

■ Future Developments
Going forward, through its collaboration with WAP, Digital Garage will continue to promote the spread of cashless payments in the B2B market and support corporate cash flow through solutions including DGFT Invoice Card Payment. In addition, by delivering a seamless payment experience through API integration with ERP systems, Digital Garage will support greater efficiency in companies’ back-office operations and their overall business management.
