Using “DGFT Invoice Card Payment” to Improve Cash Flow for Construction Businesses and Support Compliance with the SME Transactions Act

■ Background and Objectives of the Collaboration
In the construction industry, in addition to pressure on earnings from soaring material prices and labor costs, there is the cash flow challenge that payments for materials, outsourcing, and similar costs arise before payment for construction work is collected. Furthermore, with the entry into force of the SME Transactions Act (Act on Proper Transactions with Small and Medium-Sized Entrusted Business Operators), businesses are now required to pay subcontractors and other parties appropriately and on schedule and to meet stricter compliance requirements, placing the industry as a whole under pressure to achieve both more sophisticated payment management and sound cash flow.
Against this backdrop, WIREBASE, which supports greater operational efficiency in the construction industry through its business platform “Myakuraku” and other offerings, and Digital Garage, which supports corporate cash flow through B2B payments, arrived at this collaboration in order to combine their respective expertise and help construction businesses resolve management challenges on both the operational and financial fronts.
■ Overview of the Collaboration
Under this collaboration, the companies will begin offering “DGFT Invoice Card Payment” to construction businesses that are WIREBASE customers. By providing this service, they will broaden the payment options available to construction businesses and support improvements in cash flow.
■ About “DGFT Invoice Card Payment”
By switching from bank transfers to credit card payments for invoices issued by business partners that do not accept card payments, this service resolves cash flow challenges by effectively extending payment deadlines. By using cards as a payment method while maintaining conventional business practices centered on bank transfers, this service simultaneously achieves operational efficiency, improved cash flow, and greater visibility of payment data.
The service also supports the largest number of card brands in Japan*1: JCB, Visa, Mastercard®, Diners Club, SAISON Card, and NICOS Card, and is the only service in Japan to support Diners Club. By covering a wide range of brands, it can meet the needs of a broad range of customers.
Furthermore, the Digital Garage Group positions the “B2B payment domain for SMEs” as “Financial Infrastructure” in its group strategy—namely, as one of the core functions supporting the commercial and financial flows of society—and will strengthen its development.

■ Future Developments
Going forward, Digital Garage will further strengthen its collaboration with WIREBASE. By combining Digital Garage’s expertise in payments and fintech with WIREBASE’s practical knowledge of the construction industry and its AI technology, the two companies will go beyond the rollout of “DGFT Invoice Card Payment” to plan and explore new solutions that help resolve the management challenges construction businesses face, such as promoting cashless payments in the construction industry and making back-office operations more efficient.
