Digital Garage Group Implements its “Cloud Pay Neo” QR Code Payment Service in Toshiba Tec’s Tablet- and Smartphone-Based Self-Ordering Services

Supporting a Wide Range of Payment Methods in Restaurants and Food Courts to Enhance the Customer Experience from Ordering to Payment

2026.11.04

DG Financial Technology, Inc. (HQ: Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Keizo Odori; “DGFT”), the payment subsidiary of Digital Garage, Inc. (TSE Prime: 4819; HQ: Tokyo; Representative Director, President Executive Officer and Group CEO: Kaoru Hayashi; “Digital Garage”), announces that it has implemented “Cloud Pay Neo” (Patent No. 7641080) in “RelaxOrder,” “SkipOrder,” and “OtegaruOrder,” ordering services for restaurants and food courts offered by Toshiba Tec Corporation (“Toshiba Tec”). “Cloud Pay Neo” is part of the “Cloud Pay” series, one of Japan’s largest bundled QR code payment services, for which the Digital Garage Group holds patents.

Through this collaboration, businesses will be able to accept au PAY, d payment (d Barai®), Merpay, Apple Pay, and Google Pay via “Cloud Pay Neo,” in addition to credit cards, PayPay, and Rakuten Pay, without changing the user interfaces or ordering and checkout operations of the services.
This will expand the range of payment methods available to users and enhance the customer experience from ordering to payment.

DGFT’s QR code payment transaction volume surpassed JPY 1 trillion in 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of 48% over the most recent three-year period, approximately 1.7 times the market growth rate (*1). Against this backdrop of rapid business expansion, the Digital Garage Group is rolling out the “Cloud Pay” series in service areas that help businesses advance DX and reduce staffing needs, including mobile ordering and self-ordering. DGFT’s QR code payment transaction volume in the restaurant sector is also experiencing accelerating growth, increasing 28% over the past 12 months.
Meanwhile, Toshiba Tec is a leading provider of POS systems in Japan and overseas.

By combining Toshiba Tec’s extensive customer touchpoints with DGFT’s payment infrastructure, the Group will further expand the “Cloud Pay” series into areas that support digital transformation and reduced staffing needs at stores, including mobile ordering and self-ordering.
Pilot tests are currently planned at stores operated by several major restaurant operators and in food courts within commercial facilities. Further details will be announced in conjunction with the full-scale rollout.

■ Background of Initiative
The adoption of self-ordering and mobile ordering is expanding across restaurants and food courts in commercial facilities, driven by labor shortages and the growing need to improve operational efficiency.
When introducing new payment methods, businesses need to minimize the operational burden on store staff without making major changes to existing service interfaces or workflows.
Toshiba Tec and DGFT have continued to collaborate in the payment and retail sectors, establishing TD Payment Corporation (“TD Payment”) as a joint venture in 2018. Since then, the companies have pursued initiatives to help stores adopt cashless payments and improve operational efficiency, including providing a payment solution for Toshiba Tec’s “RelaxOrder” in 2019. (*2)
This initiative brings the Digital Garage Group’s ongoing efforts in the payment and retail sectors to ordering services for restaurants and commercial facilities. Digital Garage and DGFT will also integrate in-store touchpoints, such as POS and ordering systems, with payment infrastructure to develop solutions that improve store operating efficiency and enhance the customer experience from ordering to payment.

<Integrated Services>
• “RelaxOrder”: Tablet-Based Self-Ordering System
A self-ordering system that enables customers to browse menus and place orders directly from tablets installed at each table. This reduces the workload associated with order taking and supports the operational efficiency of restaurants.

• “SkipOrder”: Mobile Ordering System for Food Courts
A mobile ordering system that enables customers to place orders and complete payments from their smartphones at food court restaurants. Because they are able to order from multiple restaurants in a single transaction, it reduces both the need to move between stores and waiting times and helps improve the operational efficiency of restaurant staff.

• “OtegaruOrder”: Mobile Ordering System for Restaurants
A mobile ordering system that allows customers to browse menus and place orders using their own smartphones. Depending on a restaurant’s operating model, the system can be used for both dine-in ordering and orders placed from outside the restaurant.

■ About “Cloud Pay Neo”

■ Comments
Koji Taira; Representative Director and President, TD Payment Corporation
TD Payment, a joint venture between Toshiba Tec and DGFT, aims to develop solutions that combine both companies’ expertise in restaurant and retail operations with high-quality payment infrastructure. In recent years, labor shortages and the increasing adoption of cashless payments have made it more important than ever for restaurants to improve both operational efficiency and the customer experience. This integration with Toshiba Tec’s products addresses these market needs by enabling businesses to offer a wider range of payment methods without making major changes to store operations or customer service workflows.
We will continue to draw on both companies’ strengths to expand solutions that create value through payments and contribute to more efficient store operations.

Keizo Odori; Representative Director, President and CEO; DG Financial Technology
Toshiba Tec is an important partner with whom the Digital Garage Group has worked for many years to shape the future of the payment and retail sectors. We see significant value in this offering of “Cloud Pay Neo,” which enables businesses to expand their payment capabilities flexibly and rapidly without changing how store staff and customers use the services or their workflows.
Going forward, we will continue to combine Toshiba Tec’s extensive customer touchpoints and in-store solutions with DGFT’s payment technologies and the Digital Garage Group’s marketing assets, expanding our support beyond payment infrastructure to help stores achieve sustainable business growth.

■ Outlook
Going forward, we will work to verify the stability and operational performance of actual store environments while also expanding deployment to food and beverage businesses and food courts. At the same time, we will work to provide businesses, such as those with Toshiba Tec POS systems, value-added services centered on payments, including expanding payment options, attracting customers, building membership programs, promoting usage, and encouraging repeat visits.

■ About the “Cloud Pay” Series
The “Cloud Pay” series is one of Japan’s largest payment platforms for bundled QR code payment services (*), enabling merchants to accept multiple payment brands through a single contract with DGFT. The series includes “Cloud Pay” (Patent No. 7303664), which supports various code payments simply by having customers scan an in-store QR code with their smartphones, as well as “Cloud Pay Neo” (Patent No. 7641080), which supports not only QR code payments but also a wide range of payment methods such as credit card payments.

In addition to payment services, the series offers “Cloud Pay REGI, ”which integrates with automated payment machines and cash register functions to support cash payments; “Cloud Pay Marketing”, which uses payment touchpoints to support sales promotion and drive store visits; and “Cloud Pay Business,” which supports store operations such as sales and inventory management. Through these services, the series provides comprehensive support to help businesses improve operational efficiency, promote sales, attract customers, and strengthen customer touchpoints.
