DGFT Expands Low-Equipment-Cost Parking Solution for Small Parking Lots Across the Kanto Area
AI enables a seamless smartphone-based parking and payment experience without payment machines or ticket dispensers
DG Financial Technology, Inc. (HQ: Tokyo; Representative Director, President and CEO: Keizo Odori; “DGFT”), a subsidiary of Digital Garage, Inc. (HQ: Tokyo; Representative Director, President Executive Officer and Group CEO: Kaoru Hayashi), which operates the Group’s payment business, has begun expanding its low-equipment-cost parking lot solution in the Kanto area as part of the “Cloud Pay” series of cashless payment services. This initiative is being pursued through a collaboration between DGFT and HAYASHI TELEMPU CORPORATION (HQ: Nagoya; President: Takao Hayashi; “HAYASHI TELEMPU”), a company engaged in an extensive mobility service business. Together, the two companies will utilize AI technology to provide a parking lot solution in which users can complete the entire process, including payment, on their smartphones without the need for payment or ticketing machines.
Starting this April, the solution has begun to be introduced at parking lots operated by KEISEI REAL ESTATE Co., Ltd. and TOKYU LIFIA CORPORATION—companies with extensive operations across the Kanto area. We plan to expand implementation on a gradual basis.
In recent years, there has been a greater focus than ever on profitability and boosting provided value within the parking lot market. As such there is a need to not just switch to cashless to boost convenience and operational efficiency, but to also shift to a new business model that leverages usage data.
Meanwhile, the lack of customer touch points in parking lot operations has brought several issues to light, such as the difficulty in conducting marketing measures and the limited options available for expanding profit.
In light of these issues, DGFT has provided solutions for parking lots based on the “Cloud Pay” series.
This solution also combines AI-powered license plate recognition and parking occupancy management functions, enabling parking lot operations using only cameras without the need to install payment machines or ticket dispensers, which typically require significant initial investment.
The solution also delivers a smoother user experience, allowing users to complete the entire process from entry to payment seamlessly via smartphone.
This collaboration will combine the Digital Garage Group’s cashless payment platform and marketing insight with HAYASHI TELEMPU’s extensive knowledge and networks in the field of mobility services to not only provide a smooth payment experience, but also propel efforts with a view toward refining future data utilization and marketing measures.
Going forward, DGFT will continue to meet a wide range of business needs by providing highly scalable solutions centered on cashless payments.
